Great Egret
Ardea alba
BirdsConservation: Least Concern
A tall, all-white heron with a yellow bill and black legs. Great egrets hunt fish and frogs in wetlands worldwide. Plume hunting once nearly wiped them out, inspiring early bird-protection laws.
